Happiness is in making

creativity , values

Happiness lives in the act of making, not in the act of consuming. Building something — whether it is software, a meal, a piece of writing, or a community — engages you in a way that passive consumption never can.

The deepest satisfaction comes from creating things that serve others.

Be generous with what you make. Be generative in how you spend your time. A rich life is one lived in service to others. Choose making over accumulating, and simple pleasures over external desires.

“Happiness is in making things rather than in consuming them.” — Matt Mullenweg
