If it doesn't add, it subtracts

simplicity

Every choice, object, or relationship is either adding or subtracting.

There’s a package table in the lobby of my home building. Every day, I pass it, and every day, it is replenished with new boxes — a quite reminder of how much stuff is always in demand.

But acquiring things doesn’t always add value to your life. Everything we let into our lives has a cost in space, attention, or maintenance.

The power is in being able to know what is truly providing value. What is merely a faint convenience or feeling of security.

Subtraction isn’t loss. It is making room for what matters.

What will you let go of today?
